Hello, I am a brand new player and have chosen a team that only has 76,000 in cap space. When I try to extend some of my players it shows that I am over the cap. Will it allow me to sign players? It doesn’t make sense that extending them hits this years cap.

At this point I don't think you have much of an option but to let all the last year players walk. The good news, though, is that you have almost no dead cap for next season - so you should be able to make a pretty good splash in the FA market. Just try not to overspend!

You may be able to put most of the contract to bonus money (has to be 74% or less) and it may help your situation for now. Unless of course your player then retires like one I had. 10 mil in dead cap for the next year. This is for the ones you try to renegotiate for. And if the contract is 2 years or more then all that money comes due right away I believe. Or maybe it's just the bonus. Can't remember right off hand.
