I believe the qb akes a huge difference in the sack stat. There are qbs who take a lot of sacks, and others who don't.
I think the biggest factor is actually underrated by most people, that's having good pass block on ALL your OL, your FB and your TE
I personally don't worry about pass blocking very much on guards or centers, mainly because there are not very many great pass rushing DTs with any speed.
No but there are a ton of fast pass rushing MLBs, OLBs, and SS that will blitz the middle
I have a team or two with great olines(high strength, pass block, run block, and acc across the board), and I notice little to no difference in pass blocking.
This team for example https://mfn48.myfootballnow.com/team/view/20 , a great offensive line, a QB with 100 speed, 58 acceleration, 76 scramble, and maxed out or close to it on everything else and it seems like my QB is always running for his life anyway.
I've found that more Short pass plays equate to fewer sacks.
Short passing + decent scramble/acceleration + high passing release are some of the things I've seen reduce sack numbers. Just having two of those helps.
