Draft Board

Is it possible for there to be a smarter mechanism for your manual draft board that is more flexible? For example, if I've drafted several running backs, and by the time my next pick rolls around and all the players at the top of my board are RBs, I'd like the AI to select the highest player on my board that's not a running back. If there are no non-RBs left on my board, the AI should use the auto draft settings to make a selection,.

Also, is a Do Not Draft list possible? On one hand, this could be like the Do Not Draft list on NFL Fantasy when setting up Pre-Draft Rankings, where you can select players that autopick will not draft for you no matter the round (works for both allocation and yearly drafts). On the other hand, in allocation drafts this could manifest itself as a setting in the auto draft board similar to the volatility setting, where you can exclude players with 10+ years of experience, etc.

Thanks to WarEagle for inspiring and coming up with some of the suggestions in this thread.

In general, I think one addition would solve all kinds of problems in the drafts, and give owners much more control over who the AI selects in the event they cannot be there live to make the selection themselves.

  • Have the ability to mark each individual player in the draft pool as "do not draft", or "exclude".

  • Each owner would still have the ability to add players to the "manual" draft board, which should override everything else and take the player at the top of that list (there has to be a way to force which player is selected).

We would also still be able to use the "Auto" queue settings, except those settings would only apply to players who are eligible to be drafted (those who do NOT have the "do not draft" option checked).

I for one would feel much more comfortable letting the AI make a pick for me based on my Auto queue settings if I knew they weren't going to take a punter in the 2nd round, or a 12th year player in an allocation draft.

I would find this addition very, very useful.

The like button isn't enough to express how much I'd love an exclude button in the War Room!

  • well if this happens better have a unlimited players you can mark as that or you still would have the same problem where you get crappy player though probably from a different position than you do now.

Another item I forgot to mention that I think goes hand in hand with this is the ability to rank the players.

This would be useful combined with the "exclude" list, as it would allow us to have the AI make the draft pick.

For example, even if I am able to "exclude" players, I may not always want the player I have rated highest to be the player chosen. I'll take the 90 RB over the 95 TE, thank you very much. I know you can somewhat do this with the auto-queue weights, but not every 80 CB is the same. Some I'd want over an 80 rated DE, some I wouldn't.

Also, if we were able to rank the players, the draft pool would actually act as our "manual" board, with the auto-queue settings enabling us to control how many (if any) of each position is drafted.

There's a lot of good suggestions here. I'll toss another that I think has been mentioned in the past: let me upload my list of players directly rather than have to drag them 1-by-1 into the Manual box.

I download the full player file and prioritize players, etc now. It would be great to load my prioritized list of Player IDs as a text file or similar and have it populate. Suggests like "do not draft" could easily be included in the upload. This would make it a lot easier to manage drafts, especially the grueling last couple days of an allocation draft.

    +1000

I would pay actual money towards the development of this feature.

$100 if it also included rules, gameplans and downloadable game logs.
