I like the current format of your playbook being tied to your coach's philosophy.

I think it adds a level of realism to the game.

I think it would be even better if the bulk of your offensive playbook was tied to your OC, and your defensive tied to the DC, with HC adding a few wrinkles to each playbook.

I would like to see a greater number of plays available (and more variety), but I don't like the idea of every team in the league having the same playbook. It's too generic.

There should also be a decrease in the time it takes to gain play knowledge, especially on defense.

I am not sure, but it seems the current playbook(s) have not been added to or adjusted since they were first created (How are there still no running plays out of the 1RB/4WR formation?).

My favorite is that rule overrides allow me to choose plays from the 1 WR, 3 TE, 1 RB set.

There were times when we would change a play on the sideline,a route change, a blocking
change and to see the tweak work was great. The ability to design something can be gratifying
and at times humbleing!

The main problem I see with this is that it opens the flood gates to exploitation of the playbook. By dividing up the best plays into different philosophies, we can minimize the effect of the unbalance.
There isn't one playbook with every money play in it. That keeps the game on a level playing field.

actually i beg to differ the only way the flood gates would open for exploitation of the playbook that i can see is where people could just poach plays from coaches that arent on their team or they just hire a coach to poach plays from him then once they get them they cut him and run off with those plays .

what i mean by each is this

poach plays from coaches that arent on their team
now you might have a person who steals the playbook or worse the game plan from your coach making your team obsolete ( i think thats the word i want to use)
Also what you would have to worry about it is where you might not be able to compete with anyone because certain people got a sizable advantage over everyone else.

they just hire a coach to poach plays from him then once they get them they cut him and run off with those plays
Now you will have a serious ARMS race where people could have try to get every play before everyone else does.
Like if there are like something like 1,000,000 plays that you could have there is a chance someone could get all those plays before someone else or everyone else.
That would be like if someone were to get Madden like a month before anyone else legally and where they spent so much time on that game they knew the ins and outs long before any one else to the point they could dominate the game where they are always 1st in the rankings or standings in the game where no one could come close to that person or knocking that person off.
Basically if there were 1,000,000 plays and lets say Lellow2011 got them all before everyone else then really that gap between everyone and him widens so big now you can drive 40 semi trucks side by side.
so yeah i could see this not ending well for anyone except the person who got all the plays before anyone else.

Coaches do something. They guide the improvement of your players, especially those essential attributes like Passing Accuracy or Tackling, and they supposedly give an in game boost. That's really what coaches should do. Everything else should be left up to you.

If you thinking having a wide open play book that you have to build yourself is "easy", you're not spending enough game planning right now. :)

I actually think my Game Planning in MFN-7 is what keeps Denver in the Play Offs... something it never did before I was the Owner.

I do want more openness to my Play Book, I do want to acquire more plays. I just don't want them all dumped on me at once. I want some strategy to Play Acquisition, I want there to be some involvement that those Owners who put the work in get rewarded for, and that those who skip out on it don't.

I like things to be earned. I want additions to my Play Book to be brought about by my efforts.

I'm not an 'everyone gets a trophy' kind of guy. So I'm not an 'everyone gets all the plays' kind of guy.
