What are my options?

Both my main RB's have now got injured just as we were starting to do well and with a big game coming up Mon!
There is nothing but trash on the Free Market, and the trades have just closed as we're in Wk9!

I have 25m under the salary cap but nothing to spend it on, it seems! :( Is that it for the rest of the season?! Clearly I need to create plenty of back-ups from somewhere during early season?

One of your HBs is probable, he should be fine to play.

You might try:

* Do a player search for RB in the FA market and check "Include players not in this position group" - at least you'll see the best available RB to offer a contract to even if he's not a RB.

* Do a player search for RB and choose your team. Maybe you've got a TE or WR you could plug in.

* You may have to take what you can get, and adjust your game plan to do more short passes so you're not so reliant on the RB you have.

Okay thanks. Never thought to put my own team in.
Guess I'm just used to soccer games whereby you can loan in a player or buy a player if need be esp as I have the cash for one. Better planning needed next season I think!

You can certainly still sign a free agent, but during the season and even sometimes in the off season their just are not going to be any good players.

Ah shame. Is that the same in real life. All get snaffled up early doors?

In a sense, but teams in the NFL tend to have a bit more depth because they can have players on the practice squad. There are times where a team may have to sign someone during the season though.

I'd say move a mid-talent wide receiver with raw attributes (size, speed, break tackle) and slot him at number one in the RB depth chart. It looks like Reuben Jackson projects well, and tight ends won't do much in your scheme so you should be good using him.

Then you should change your gameplan to give him less carries and more screens/wheel routes and stuff.

MFN doesn't have the same red flags the NFL does that prevent teams from signing players. In the NFL you could kick the tires on an older veteran with one more run left in him or a player with personality issues at any point in the season. Look at Ray Rice or Steven Jackson.
