So..i was wondering when players stats get better? I mean does a player have a chance to improve his ratings sim to sim if he is playing?..or does all the increases/decreases always happen at the same time? (off season)

Thanks
Dash

Ratings increase only during the Training Camp cycle. The only ratings that change in season are Conditioning and Position Experience, I believe. Play Familiarity also changes.

No, Players will also develop in season...just look up there playercard --> view ---> Progress

There you can see when and what jump/decline in Ratings have been processed

Training camp has clearly the most influence but its not true that there is the only increase/decline

Thank you all for the insight.. this question right here^^ is precisely why i'm asking. in 1 league i have a QB 83/83 but is aging (8yrs+) but i have a stud prospect at 45/90 (not outstanding but clearly better). so if i play him would he in fact get better as the season goes on.. or am i better off playing the older one till the rook is actually capable of playing?

Thanks

I can tell you what I've done. In 2 leagues I'm in, I drafted very good QB's (88+). I started the season with both on the bench. About 5-6 games in, both teams weren't doing so well, so I had both finish the season. With both teams, the young QB played like a veteran 1 week and a rookie the next. One week, would be 350yds+ passing. The next would be 33% pass completion and a 100yd game.

To me, the player's current numbers are the current numbers, but you will see flashes of greatness.

I will add that playing the rookies during their rookie season really helped out for next season. Both have added +15 to current ratings, which would have happened much slower if I didn't play them.

Just to pile on, I've seen players progress both positive and negative (one or the other) throughout the season. I have also just observed for the first time a player that always had negative progress, actually have a positive progression during his second season. Only 1 point mind you, but the norm is whichever way they trend after that initial TC, that is how they will progress for their career. Either positive or negative.

Lastly, playing 83/83 or 45/90, depends on your goal. If your contending, probably stay with 83/83, but honestly, your 83/83 could be a TO machine, and the rookie could be playing at a high level. Look around, you got 56 rated RBs running for 1500 yds and 60 rated QBs throwing 40plus TDs. Just got to see who plays best in your system. Not much of an answer but I'm bored.

The players' current rating is what is used during the game sim. So a player with an attribute of 25/50 will play as a 25 player until his current rating improves.

He will gain experience (which is helpful) but won't improve his attributes any faster.
