Player weight?

I notice the weight changes, whether it be a position change or just a random few pounds here and there. What is the logic? Do i as the coach have any control over this? And also, although it maybe a minor effect, do these weight changes affect a players speed/ acc/ strength?

The weights are a method of "weighing" the chances of things happening. If you put a rating of 65 on WR's and put a rating of 35 on Fullbacks out of a 100 total rating, You have twice the chances of Drafting a WR instead of a FB.

I should have been more detailed in the question phrasing......I thought it might get mixed with player weighting....lets try again....like a guy is 6'2 242lbs and i look at him again and he is now 238lbs, now I switch him to Safety and he loses even more weight. I have seen stuff like this. I was wondering why?

That is what I thought you meant, but couldn't understand a change in actual weight, I've never noticed this before. Doesn't seem right...

I didn't notice that happening with the weight change. I'll pay more attention to that detail.

Sorry, I misunderstood.

It is all like one or two pounds here and there,, but I see larger impact when the position changes. Over time of course.. Not dramatic. I seem to notice patterns develop, but I have not seen documentation or forum posts. So, I assuming the effect is little, but I think it so nice to see weights change.

Yes, there have been subtle weight changes (seemingly even during the season). Not unrealistic as in RL weight does seem to fluctuate, especially during the season (generally mostly downward).

I also drafted a safety who was 6'1" and 220. He is now playing at 206. Curious as to whether the weight change also impacts performance (it impacts blocking performance according to jdavid).

Tried to find where he says this... If two players both have 100 speed, the heavier one will not be as fast, same with acceleration etc...

Good observation.

It would be helpful if there was a table where the measurements could be correlated with RL performance. For example, would a 100 speed rating/100 acceleration rating for a 190 lb CB/WR/DB be equivalent to a 4.4 (or faster) 40 yd dash? Would a 50 speed/100 acceleration rating be a 4.8 40 yd dash? Would a 50 speed/50 acceleration be a 5.2 40 yd dash? Would it differ if the CB/WR/DB were 220 lbs?

Would a 100 speed/100 acceleration rating for a 300 lb DL/OL yield a 5.0 40 yd dash?

And so.

Just think of it like the combine, the fastest lineman vs the fastest WR.....
