I suppose I should ask at this point, our league is totally new, going into the last game of the first season, should I put considerably less than 40 plays in my offensive play book as well? If you guys were in a brand new league, game one, season one, how many plays wpuld you have started with in your offensive and defensive playbooks?

Offensively, I roll with 40 plays and stick hard with them. (due to play knowledge and wanting to ramp up effectiveness) If you start toggling around, shifting plays after every game....you're done.

You'd want to be diversified, include many sets and make sure you have a solid balance in them between the rushes (inside/outside) and the varying pass lengths. (short/medium/long)

There's a typical set up I do on this and how I go about attacking it.

But, basically, each of the 40 plays you select you want to have the ability to do damage. You craft them with that intent and make your offense a moving target for anyone to scout.

There's nuances but this is a general approach.

I agree with this. Although I've had a few bad experiences with a few gm's in this game, by far most people are very nice and willing to help.
