You can find some some potential talent late, but don't expect a lot of Tom Brady's to appear. To JDB's point....

Here is my year 4 RG. Drafted with the last pick of the 5th round, 5.32. He has gone +22/+15 since then. He was a 53/63 and is now a 75/78 and is +3/+2 this season as well.... https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/player/9970

Here is another...my 2nd year LDE drafted 5.19 and dropped after his 1st season, was acquired through F/A...was 25/55, has gone +21/+8...46/63 now.... https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/player/10619

My starting DT...drafted 5.13 by another team. 8 year vet was rated 35/60....has gone +46+21...now an 81/81 DT,.. https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/player/8361

If you have some patience and roster depth to wait a little for development, you can certainly find some cheap gems.

IMHO, I think to some degree you have to asterisk MFN1 examples.

EDIT: I jumped the gun before posting looking at my teams I can see parallel progress as well. As an example: https://cust9.myfootballnow.com/player/3541

Sorry for disrespecting MFN1 ;)

On the other hand, I love picks in the 5-7 range.

Why?

1) Camp fodder. Who doesn't love camp fodder? Shut up, you know you love camp fodder.

2) Experiments with player position. Ever wanted to see what would happen if that 6'6" TE with 99 SP, 0 Strength, and 60 catch/route/courage would look like as a WR, but didn't want to waste a high pick? Well, now here's your chance?

3) Hidden RBs. 90 SP, AC, Carry, Avoid QB? He's a running back. 90 SP, Carry, Avoid, Strength, Break Tackle TE? He's now a running back too. 90 SP, Carry, Avoid FB? He's now...well, you get the picture. (Like this boomer: https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/4717)

4) DB boomers. If there is a DB with decent SP and tackle available in the late round, I will draft him. Even if his cover skills aren't the best. I've seen a lot of value in drafting DBs late because they are hard to find and when they boom, it's awesome. Then you turn around and flip them. (Like this 7.32 pick also from 19: https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/3980)

I would like to love late round pick for the same reason, but in this game most of the late players look like mutant. DT whit strenght 20 or Cb whit speed 10.

I understand all players can't not Come all star, but all players should look like real player.

Do You draft a Cb whit potentiel zone And man to man 80 but whit speed 20.

The only way to find some not to bad players is because, i think, most don't care for the late round pick.

I have said this, and I stand by it, if you're seeing players like that in your draft as draftable players, then you need to reevaluate your weights. The "mutant" players I see are LBs that have decent SP and lots of tackling. Or they have low speed, but lots of tackling and run defense. I don't see any CBs with <50 or so SP anymore in the late rounds unless the board is particularly bad.

But I love mutant players with the right attributes.

Are you telling me you wouldn't have gambled on any of these guys?

2 https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/4953
3 https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/5037
4 https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/4960
5 https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/5154

And that was just the last draft. Will any of these guys make my team? Probably not. But they are all great fodder that showed the potential to boom based on their "mutant" attributes at the time of drafting.

Sure. But those exist in the NFL drafts as well. I think your hang up here is on one or two attributes that don't correlate well to NFL draft classes. In the NFL, if you're fast, I mean really fast, you'll get a shot either in the draft or as a UDFA. (See for instance the Emporia State University WR that was signed as a UDFA because he ran a 4.3 40.) But speed only gets your foot in the door. You have to be able to use your speed to catch, to tackle, to do anything. Similarly, you have to be able to use your strength to do things. Would you rather see 50 players at the end of the draft with 100 SP or 100 ST, but absolutely no other attributes? Because that's the only way we get the draft close to the NFL.

... at which time those attributes become meaningless.

Note that a 0 speed does not mean he can't move. A 0 speed means he will be the slowest player on the field, but is still a pro-level speed. Some other attributes are not that way, but the ones that pretty much every player should have score a zero as a still relevant value.

Good to know...
Sometime 0 is 0, sometime 0 is not 0?????? Do you have a different evaluation for 0 on each position.
