DT/CB prospects

There needs to be more of an abundance of defensive tackles and cornerbacks in the drafts.
after round 2 i'll search for the two positions and there will be barely any cornerbacks or defensive tackles that are even semi good or backups.

For corners, I usually have to pick a safety and convert him into a corner. especially since those two positions have the most abundance in real life, there should be more players from those two positions to choose from in the draft.

From my experience DT seems to be the most abundent position when it comes to highly rated players in the draft. But, the good ones go quickly, mostly in the first round.

Highly rated CBs are rare in this game, and if there ever is one (not every draft class has one), they are gone in the first.

To me, everyone after the 2nd round is a complete ****-shoot. You never know what you're going to get ... until you get to the 6th and 7th rounds. Then you know you're getting someone who won't make it to the first game before being cut.

I agree, I would like to see those once in a while those 6-7 round picks to have a great jump in training camp. I mean like a 20 point jump not just a 5 point. There is plenty of times when those late round picks in the NFL end up becoming gems. I am not saying there should be lots of them but a couple a season overall would be nice.

The problem for me is that very frequently those players wouldn't even make my roster with a 20 point jump because their non-increasing skills are so low, haha. If a guy has no speed or strength or accel, or arm strength, he isn't going to ever get near enough to impact a play with his awesome tackling, or blocking, or accuracy, or whatever.

For the most part I agree what your saying...I'd like to add though, being active during the draft is pivotal to having a good team. Knowing your team's needs (at whatever) part of the draft will go a long way. Some people tend to sleep during the draft and expect to get the best player/ need every round.

I make my picks for the first 3 rounds myself, sometimes the 4th.
Due to my previous experiences in many MFN drafts, I ignore the remaining rounds and usually just void the contracts before training camp if I can't trade the picks. I try to trade them for the same round in future years, always hoping that eventually we'll get better pools of players.

I guess I am not very good at evaluating players, because I've never had anyone "boom" past the 3rd round. Others on here seem to think the draft pools are great, and they do have these "booms" (I assume). I just don't know how they do it.

Absolutely, only problem is if you have stuff to do in real life, you're screwed. As with real drafts your targets/needs often change as the draft unfolds. Quite often I will load my manual draft and by the time my pick is around I have re-ordered my pick myself. For those that cannot stick around for the draft, (the first 3 rounds at least) you are screwed and for me this is an unavoidable scenario.

I agree with you 100% and happen to think you are a great evaluator of talent, only because you keep stealing my draft picks ;)
Yeah this 'supposed great draft pool' does not exist, at best you can pick up an average player and keep them on your team, but usually their growth and future growth is just so slow that by the time they are any good they have a 20% chance of retirement, ha ha cheers!

I would be in favour of round 1 and 2 taking 2 days each, half the teams each day. IMO the off season is quite quick so i feel this wont disrupt the timing BUT will allow the lower draft teams to set an accurate draft board for their needs even if they cannot watch live.

I know why we don't have MFN on Sundays, but this is when a good chunk of us are off, so are we missing a trick here?
